
Joel Mak is an Australian writer. His essays and stories revolve around immigration, culture, and language. He occasionally writes about current affairs, books, and music on this blog and for other websites.
He grew up in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China. After graduating with a BA (Honours) in French Studies from the University of Sydney, he moved to Montreal where he taught ESL for four years. He relocated to Melbourne to complete a Master of Public Policy and Management.
